Last weekend Coys set a world record by selling a 1984 Jaguar XJ Series 3 for £31,860 at their Ascot auction.
This two owner XJ6 Series 3 (chassis no. SAJJAALP7CC416706) from 1984 has only covered 8,000 miles and features a rare five-speed manual gearbox. It’s finished in Sage metallic with a Doeskin interior which seems to be in excellent condition.
Th car was provided with a full history, invoices and with three sets of keys, all original tools and books as well as a V5 document and MoT certificate valid until October. So basically the new owner bought a new XJ Series 3.
If you take a look at the pictures you can see its immaculate condition. On the outside the car already looks stunning in the classic pale green Sage. Also the engine-bay looks basically brand new. But the interior is the “pièce de resistance”. Look at those gorgeous seats and mint wood trim. Just incredible to see this on a 31 year old car! This car definitely qualifies as a “time warp” car.
PS Sorry for the low resolution pictures of the interior and engine bay.
