The Mercedes-Benz booth was one of the largest booths at the 2015 Techno Classica Essen, highlighting models gathered around the theme “Aerodynamic design”: the Blitzen-Benz (1909), the W25 Rekordwagen (1936), the W196 R Stromlinie (1955), the C111-III (1978), the E 500 (W 124) (1994) and the CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake (X 117) (2015). Numerous enthusiasts clubs were present at the Mercedes booth. And I also noticed a few 600’s, basically the longest cars on the floor and majestic as always.
But what impressed me most was the number of gorgeous Mercedes 300 SL’s throughout the entire exhibition. Like HK Engineering which featured lots of 300 SL’s, but the ones that stood out the most for me were a 300 SL Roadster and a 300 SL Gullwing in silver with a red interior. Rosier also showed two exquisite Gullwings, one in black with brown interior and a silver one with red/white interior and matching luggage.
In silver this car is just plain stunning. From any angle you look at it, you always see sophisticated lines and elegant details. A true classic design!
